Picture Perfect

Today we were blessed to have our dear friend Sarah over to play and eat dinner!!! While we were hanging out, she decided to try her newly found camera skills out on our precious son...of course I was excited to have Maddox has her first test subject (she did an amazing job and took some super fun pictures!!!) Thank you Sarah for your constant love for our Maddox and your amazing friendship!!! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our fun in the swing!!!

Fabulous at Fifteen

We had our fabulous 15 month well-check appointment today!!! Despite the fact that the appointment fell right at nap time, Maddox did great! He did have to get 2 shots, but we will take 2 shots over 6 any day!!! Everything looked great, he is a growing, happy, healthy boy and for that alone we have so much to be thankful for!!
Stats:
Height- 32 3/4inches (95th percentile)
Weight-27lbs 12oz (85th percentile)
Head Circumference-20 (over the 97th percentile...hahha...always cracks me up)

So from the last visit until now, Maddox has gotten taller and not much heavier!! I'm not sure how he would be able to get much heavier...he runs all day long and I think God knows I'm running out of strength in my arms to lung him around (hahha, joking...well, sort of)

As most of you know, our son is a man of few words and loves to point, grunt and use his sign language over actual speech. The doctor is not at all concerned about this because he knows what we are saying and uses his signs for communication. However, for my own memory I will make a list of the words he can say and/or sign at 15 months:

Says:
Cracker
Momma
Dadda
Ice
Dog
Yogurt
Drink

Signs:
Bath
Please
Thank You
Eat
More
Kisses
Dadda
Hat
Momma

At 15 months Maddox takes an hour morning nap and an 1-2 hour afternoon nap (he is just not ready to eliminate that morning nap yet) He eats what we eat for the most part, he still cannot tolerate any dairy so we have to be careful, but it is so easy to find soy products these days. He loves any fruit and is doing better eating meat. He has 10 teeth and working on number 11 (the last molar) He runs and plays all day long and is constantly into everything, thus keeping me on my toes!!! I really enjoy this age, he is so much fun (although, the temper tantrums are in full effect at times, I am hoping I can continue to stay strong and discipline and guide him into a fun loving little man!!!)

Happy Easter

My chains are gone, I AM FREE!!! I am free of the burdens of this world, I am free of the same sins I struggle with everyday. I am free!!!

Dear Maddox,

Happy Easter, my 15 month old ball of fire little boy! We are so proud of you and how you are growing and learning, and playing all the time! Your daddy and I want to express to you how truly important this holiday of Easter is. We celebrate Easter because it is the time when Jesus died for all of our sins, He took all of the things we do wrong and forgave us. Easter Sunday is the day we celebrate His Resurrection! That's right Maddox, Jesus came back for us, and all we have to do is believe in Him and we are safe and secure in His arms. We want you to know that Jesus is always there for you, He will never leave and He loves you more than you will ever know. Your daddy and I will do our very best to show you HIS love and to guide you to know Him.

This Easter we found you a fun toy to play with, a work bench just like your daddy's. There were many thoughts that went into finding this gift for you. I know that you love to imitate your daddy, you love to pick up your tools and use them the way your daddy does. In the same way, we want you to imitate Jesus, to pick up the tools He left you (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control) and use them the way Jesus does. We pray you will learn to follow Jesus' footsteps the same way you so eagerly try to follow in your daddy's.

We love you very much little man!!!

An almost Wordless Wednesday

Last week was full of days that were cold/rainy/snowy causing Maddox and I to have cabin fever. We had to get creative to help pass the time:

We put on Daddy's motorcycle helmet (and cried when we took it off because that was just too much fun!!)
We had a blast playing IN our clothes hamper!!!

We wrestled with Daddy and laughed and laughed

And finally we played in Momma's rain boots

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!!!
