Power of Prayer

I'm going to start writing out my prayers for the kiddos. I have journaled my prayers in the past and I love being able to look back and see the hand of God in specific areas of my life. I am having a difficult time with Paxton lately and I realized today that I haven't prayed over the issue nearly as much as I've talked about it.

I pray over Paxton. Oh Lord please guide me as his momma. I am weary. I feel defeated. I am spent. Please guide him and help him to be kind and happy. Oh Lord, I would love to see him happy and not so scared of anything new. I would love to see him make friends and be friendly. He gets so easily frustrated. He argues and cries at so much. It breaks my heart to think he is as miserable on the inside and he portrays on the outside on some of his most difficult days.  I desperately need less battles everyday. I pray he is happy. I pray he is obedient. I pray he is kind and fun to be around. I pray you would open my eyes to see what he needs and how to love him in the ways he longs for. I pray for patience without you having to test my patience even more. I pray for perspective and guidance to know which battles to truly fight and when to just let go. I pray that I will speak kindness and Grace even when I am beyond frustrated. I pray that I will seek the good in him and praise him when he is making good choices. I pray for energy and strength. I pray for the tools I need to be the best momma I can be.

History in the Making

My boys were able to experience Texas Tech sports history in the making this weekend! They watched the final, winning baseball game that moved our red raiders to compete in the college World Series for the very first time in tech history!!! What a fun day for the Kalivoda boys!!!
A little rain delay didn't stop these baseball fans!!!

Go tech!

While the boys were at the game, the girls played babies, painted finger nails, and simply enjoyed girl time!!!

The Big 3-1

Well, I am officially 31 years old. Whew, time just goes by so quickly. I feel like it was yesterday that I was learning to drive and now I spend my day driving my OWN three children around.
I had a wonderful birthday weekend with my family. The weekend started with a date night for Brad and I (thanks again dad and Kelly for keeping the kiddos). My dad made me a picnic table for our back yard for my birthday. I love it. It will be fun to take pictures each year and see how big the kids get while eating fun meals hanging by the pool each year!!!
The next day we had a party here at the house with my mom, Granny, Jason kameron, mollie, Henley and my hubby and kiddos. We swam, ate yummy fajitas and my mom made a delicious red velvet cake. Yummy. It was wonderful. The kids swam forever and jumped on the trampoline. So much fun!

That evening we had a severe thunderstorm with 96 mile and hour winds and hail. We no longer have a trampoline. It was sucked out of our back yard and we have no clue where it ended up. It's no where in our subdivision. It's probably 2 counties over. Sheesh. Man, we were having so much fun with that trampoline. The boys are super sad. Crazy. We are thankful we didn't have more damage than we had. We will probably need a new roof and our fence is leaning, and after we fished all our patio furniture out of the pool, I think we are all cleaned up. Sheesh.

Let's Bring Back Summer

Summer is officially upon us, and while I was super bummed about Maddox being finished with Kindergarten, it hasn't taken long to get into the groove of summertime. I am loving the sleeping in in the mornings, trips to the mall play ground and the Science Spectrum followed by afternoon swimming at the house and later bed times for the kiddos. I am thankful to get this time with all 3 of my kiddos together....do you like how I always blog in the evening time after everyone is in bed.....it is when they are sleeping and the house is quiet that I can write such kind things about having all 3 of them home TOGETHER.....hahahah. Oh it's a good thing they are so darn cute, because the constant arguing, pestering and whining can drive a momma crazy...until bedtime, then she gets to sit and think about how wonderful they are.
While the arguing is driving me crazy, today I was able to witness the boys playing, laughing and creating new games together....it was bliss (well, until the new game created a massive wave in the pool which splashed water in mr. Paxton's eyes and the entire universe crumbled right before our very chlorine filled eyes). You win some you loose some.

Seriously, have you ever seen anything cuter than this!?

The joys of summer
