8 Months Already

Our Sweet P turned 8 months old today....my heart starts racing just thinking about how quickly this year with him is flying by...I continue to pray for time to slow down and while I know that is not possible I am learning to pray that I would soak up every moment with both of these boys!!

What are you up to this month Paxton James????

Weight- 20pounds 6.5 ounces
Wearing mostly 12 month clothes, although you need 9 month pants for the length (but your sweet Buddha belly requires you to wear 12 month pants in order to be more comfortable)
Size 3 diaper

You have had your very first ear infection and cold this past week, and bless your little heart you have felt absolutely miserable. You were so congested for a few days in there that you could hardly take a bottle and a few times you simply refused to eat (which is definitely NOT the norm with you). Thankfully we are on the mend and you have felt great today....yippee!!

You are "crawling" (I say the term loosely, because it is not an official on the knees crawl. You rock on your knees for a while then just lay on your belly and stretch/arm crawl to reach whatever you are interested in. Not the most efficient way, but you are certainly figuring out how to get the job done)

Before you got sick you were sleeping great. 12-13 hours a night with a couple naps during the day

You eat four 7 ounce bottles a day along with two meals. You enjoy your solid food and much prefer to feed yourself cheerios or small crackers than actually eat with a spoon

Your favorite toy right now is a baby doll. It really is the cutest thing I have ever watched to see you laugh and "talk" to this little baby. My mom says it's not at all surprising because you love to snuggle and be with people so much!

You are fascinated with your big brother. The louder and more obnoxious humorous he is the better for you! You love when he talks to you, runs and scares you! Your laugh when you play with Maddox is hilarious and contagious!

You are still my little "hip" baby. You prefer to be held most of the day and tend to freak out when I walk out of the room; however, I have seen major improvements in this area this past month....and you have even let your sweet Daddy give you a bottle and put you to bed on several occasions....whew....I was beginning to get a little worried!!

You are very laid back and such a sweet spirited little guy. Your eyes, smile and laugh still melt my heart on a daily basis! We are so thankful to have you in our lives! We love you our 8 month old Paxton James!!

ALL ABOARD!!

All Aboard!! Come Join us through our adventure on the Polar Express!!

This past Saturday we had a blast traveling on a train to the North Pole to pick up Santa and a few of his elves. We drank hot chocolate, sang Christmas Carols and laughed at Maddox and Mollie as they enjoyed a ride on the train and one of the little ones enjoyed seeing Santa!

Meeting our train Conductor. Maddox was as fasinated with this nice man as he was with St. Nick himself!

Do you see it Maddox? The train is coming!!

OH!! I see it!!!

CiCi, Granny, me and Maddox waiting to board the magical train

Me and my Big Boy!

Mom and Mollie on the Train

Maddox trying to figure out what is going on!!

Did I mention these two LOVED the train and looking out the window! (We were really close to the North Pole at this point)

Madd hugging on Mollie....she was less than thrilled, but I thought it was precious! He sure does love his little cousin Mollie

OH BOY....SANTA!!!! Maddox just talks and talks to the big man in red!!

Maddox telling Santa a story about his day..haha.

Oh poor Mollie. She is NOT a fan of jolly old St. Nick.

Maddox tried to help her, but she was not at all convinced by Maddox's tactics!!

She was however pleased with her silver bell given that Santa gave her

Just enjoying the ride

Oh we had a wonderful time and loved watching the little ones get excited! I am so thankful we have started this tradition and I look forward to being able to take Paxton with us next year!! Thanks Mom for working so hard to make all of this possible for us to enjoy the Polar Express together!!

And because I couldn't resist...here is Mr. P sporting the Santa hat!!!

35 Months

Today Mr. Maddox is 35 months old. Is anyone else as shocked as I am that I am one short month away from having a 3 year old little boy. It is fascinating to watch him transform out of toddler hood and into a little boy who loves trains, tricycles and all things that move fast!

My big man!

My 3 favorites from my almost 3 year old this month:

Maddox randomly saying "Oh mommy, I love you so so so much"
Watching Maddox "fix" the Scout with Daddy. Gosh this boy loves his tools and helping daddy in the garage!!
Watching Maddox play more with cousin Mollie and baby Paxton. He is so sweet to both of them (unless they are trying to play with something that he wants. Ha). He loves to make Paxton laugh and Paxton lights up like a well lit Christmas tree every time Maddox interacts with him!

Maddox and Mollie this time Last Year!! OH the difference a year makes!!

Random

*Warning! Very Random Post!*

Funny conversation with Maddox the other day:

Maddox laughing "Oh Mommy, that is so funny!!!"
Me "What is funny Maddox??"
Maddox "The trees"

Oh the simplicity of childhood. How easily we get in the groove of just going and going and forget to stop and just laugh a little at the trees, or the grass or a random flower or two. I am beyond thankful for the gentle reminders of how amazing our Lord is!!

Another random and common conversation with Maddox:
Maddox "Mommy, why do we have ___________ (insert any body part...nose, eyes, fingers, neck, hand, elbow, bellybutton.....you name it, he has asked why we have it).
Me: Hmmm, I try so hard to find all the reasons for all the specific body parts..its been a lot of fun to try to explain everything to him...and the fun ways to make him laugh. We have necks so that I can tickle him under his chin. We have hands so he can hold my hand. We have lips so I can kiss his cheek. We have feet so we can run and dance...you get the point. It is fascinating to get a chance to see his little mind ALWAYS at work.

OH Mr. Paxton. You sir are giving me a run for my money this week and I definitely think I am past due for a raise..hahah. Seriously though, you my friend have got to get to a point where you are okay to be sat down without ME holding you for at least 5 minutes during the day. On a positive note, I am getting one really strong arm and my back has got to be getting stronger everyday from carrying him around ALL day long. Ha.
You can tell Maddox has been watching me carry Paxton around in the front infant carrier, because the other day Maddox stuffed Raffie in his shirt and just Raffie's head popping out the neck of his shirt. Maddox then went on to say "This is MY baby Raffie...I will take care of him" Such a sweet little boy!!
Paxton has been doing really well, although this week he has been a little cranky and more needy than usual (teething perhaps) and he is getting closer and closer to crawling....eek...oh the adventure we are about to have with a mobile infant and an active big guy!!!

We are gearing up for 3 weeks of Christmas, and we are super excited!!! We are starting the celebration off by taking the big kids (Maddox and cousin Mollie) on the Polar Express on Saturday (Paxton will stay with daddy). Then we will do our family Christmas celebration with my Mom, Paul, Carol and Granny on Sunday. Then next weekend we will celebrate with my Dad and Kelly. Then the next week we are off to Oklahoma for more celebrating with Brad's family!! Things are about to get a bit busy but oh so exciting!!

On a completely different note, today I found out that Maddox's teacher will not be returning after Christmas break, and I am so sad for Maddox. He has grown to love Ms Syndy and she has done an amazing job helping Maddox adjust to a school type environment. Please pray for a smooth transition and that Maddox will love his new teacher just as much!!

Well, there, how is that for a very random post!! Have a blessed day!!
